Here’s exactly when you can play.
Pokemon Sun and Moon Release Time
Pokemon fans are to get their hands on the next installment of the long-running pocket monster series. But what time does it actually release?
While the game is slated for a Nov. 18th release in North America, Australia, and Japan, those who have pre-ordered the game digitally will be able to start playing at 12:00 a.m. EST. Just make sure to have the game pre-loaded from the Nintendo eShop.
For those purchasing a hard copy of the game, GameStop will be holding Pokemon launch events at various locations across the country. The full list of stores holding events can be found here. Check with your preferred locations to see if they will be offering a midnight release purchase. Best Buy, Target, and Walmart will occasionally hold midnight release events as well – call your local store to find out.
European Pokemon trainers will have to wait until Nov. 23rd to begin their journeys across the new region of Alola. More information on what time the game releases for the UK and the rest of Europe will likely become available as we move closer to the game’s official release date.
Pokemon Sun and Moon is the latest game in the popular franchise and contains a plethora of new features, including new appearances for pre-existing evolutions, the ultra-powerful Z move that can be used once per battle, and a whole bunch of new Pokemon to catch. If you’re still undecided between the two versions, you can check out all the spoiler-free differences here.
