A Respect for the Lives He Takes

Recommended Videos

ezio

Though Ezio is commonly known for his one-liners and charm, one line is far more than just some quip thrown in to flesh out the game’s script. “Requiscat in Pace,” or Rest in Peace, is Ezio’s way of respecting the lives he is taking in his line of work, regardless of their deeds that led him to this point.

Through killing and carrying out his actions in honor, Ezio manages to maintain an element of class in an occupation where respect is not at the forefront. He shows a compassion and respect for life that his enemies and fellow assassins don’t share, and it’s something that becomes all the more prevalent as his journey progresses. Even when coming face to face with those who have hurt him and his family the most, Ezio manages to take the high road, showing respect for life at all times.
