Forged by fire.
Two new Warcraft champions for Heroes of the Storm were announced at BlizzCon 2016 today: Varian Wyrnn and Ragnaros the Firelord. In the announcement video, former leader of the alliance, Varian Wrynn and elemental destroyer, Ragnaros the Firelord, go head-to-head in heated battle. You can check out the video below:
Varian Wrynn will be Heroes of the Storm’s first multi-class hero. Players will be able to build Varian as either a “shield-bearing warrior” or a “life-ending assassin.” By choosing specific talents the character can be played a total of six different ways. Ragnaros the Firelord enters the fray as you would expect any raid boss to, with “larger than life abilities.” Not only will players have the ability to smite their foes with fiery destruction using Ragnaros’ famed legendary weapon, Sulfuras, but they will also have the power to take over both active and destroyed forts and become titantic in order to fend off attacks using his ability Molten Core. You can check out Varian Wrynn and Ragnaros in action as well as more coming to Heroes of the Storm, such as new brawls and skins, in another video below:
Varian Wrynn will be playable on the Heroes of the Storm test realm next week with an official release on the week of November 15th, with Ragnaros following closely behind with a release sometime in December.
