Journey Developer, thatgamecompany, Is Teasing a New Project About Candles Maybe

The studio behind Flower, Flow, and Journey is teasing a brand new project on their official Twitter account. Thatgamecompany posted a singular tweet today, with the image of two candles on a blue background and a caption that reads “a game about giving.” The tweet directs users to a new Twitter page with the handle @thatnextgame. The studio is also celebrating its 10th Anniversary this year.

The studio then posted a second image, this time showing what looks to be four children holding hands, against the same vibrant blue background. We’ll have to wait and see exactly what this means, but you can see the image down below.

It’s been four years since thatgamecompany’s last game, which was the critically acclaimed Journey released in 2012. The title garnered multiple Game of the Year nominations and its soundtrack, composed by Austin Wintory, became the first video game soundtrack nominated for a Grammy.

There’s little to no information about the new title as of now, but the studio’s games always revolve around a singular idea. Flower literally had you controlling the petals of a flower and flying on the wind, while Journey really was about just that, a hero going on a journey. Make sure to check back with Twinfinite for more, whenever the new title is announced.

What type of game would you like to see from thatgamecompany’s new project? Which of their three past titles is your favorite? Leave a comment down below and let us know.
