The newest update to PS4 Sharefactory has some welcome improvements included, letting creators pump out a slew of new content.
The most notable addition to update 2.0 is the ability to create and share GIFS based on gameplay you capture. You can even add text for a bit of extra flair. This is currently the only way to make GIFS on PS4 and is certain to lead to some great PlayStation-centric hilarity.
The other noteworthy addition is the photo mode, which allows the creation of collages of up to six photos. You can also add filters and effects to these collages. Sharefactory is quickly evolving to allow players to create content and push it directly to social media. Previously you could only publish photos captured in-game, but the addition of GIFS will allow for the creation much more elaborate pieces.
The update also prepares the service for the release of the PS4 Pro, ensuring that early adopters can take and edit 4K pictures. The rest of the editions offered simply give creators an expanded suite of tools to work with. The PlayStation 4 Pro comes out November 10, offering up extra processing power to display games in 4K and HDR.
