Pokemon Sun and Moon: How to Evolve Eevee into Espeon

If you try to become a Psychic-only Pokemon trainer or just want to have a nice balance to your team, then you’re probably looking to get an Espeon.

If you wish to evolve your Eevee then that’s going to take some work, and you’ll want to stock up on Luxury Balls which you can buy early on in the Poke Center on Route 2. The reason to get these special Poke Balls is because it helps your Pokemon become friendly to you faster and that plays an important part.

You’ll then want to head over to Route 4 or Route 6 in order to catch an Eevee, make sure you catch one with the Luxury Ball. What makes it harder to evolve Eevee into Espeon is that it needs to be extremely friendly to you as it levels up, and once that level hits it needs to evolve during the day to become Espeon. If you have the time during the day then go ahead and give your Eevee a Soothe Bell, this will help make it friendlier faster. You’ll then want to use it for battles to get experience to evolve, make sure to take care of it in Pokemon Refresh, and feed it Poke Beans.

If you don’t have time then you can always give your Eevee an Everstone to hold while you work on its friendship. This is not something you can keep track of in Pokemon Refresh, but since you used the Luxury Ball it automatically increases your friendship level to 200, meaning you would only need 20 points more before it evolves.

You can switch out the Soothe Bell and the Everstone depending on the time of day, but it shouldn’t take too long to have Eevee evolve with high friendship levels. Once you evolve your Eevee during the day and it becomes Espeon, then you’re all set to go. Check out your Espeon’s abilities to see if you have one with Magic Bounce – it’s an ability that reflects non-attack Pokemon moves back to the attacker and makes Espeon one of the best baton passers in the game. If not then you can always evolve more Eevee and now breed them to try to get more Espeons.
