Who got affected?
Pokemon GO received an update today that adjusts the Combat Power (CP) of various Pokemon. Developer Niantic mentioned in a blog post that Alakazam, Rhydon, and Gengar would have their CP increased, while not saying who would have their CP value decreased.
“These changes will allow a more balanced and competitive battling and training experience in Gyms,” Niantic explained. “We will continue to adjust the CP going forward to improve the game balance when necessary.
One Reddit user has been keeping an unofficial list of Pokemon that have been reported buffed or nerfed by other users. Pokemon who have had their CP increased besides the previously mentioned include Snorlax, Kangaskhan, Beedrill, Gyarados, and more. Pokemon whose CP was lowered include Psyduck, Slowbro, Eevee, Magikarp, Arcanine, and more.
In related news, Niantic is also offering twice the amount of XP and Stardust this week to thank fans for their support since the game launched last July. The double XP reward begins Nov. 23 and ends Nov. 29 at 7 pm ET.
