Hooked on a feeeeeeelin’.
Telltale has handled many a comic book property over the years, and now it looks like they’re finally getting started on that Marvel deal they announced last year. Looks like the first heroes up to bat are the Guardians of the Galaxy, and it’ll more than likely be due out in 2017.
The SAG-AFTRA voice actors union has released a document showing games currently in development. While the union is on strike, members are still able to complete their work on games that are already in production, and a Guardians of the Galaxy video game is one of the titles listed. The signatory, O’Farrell Enterprises, also has Telltale’s third season of Walking Dead under their header, and the registered agent for the company is one Darragh O’Farrell.
If Telltale were to make a Guardians of the Galaxy game, it wouldn’t entirely be surprising. The sequel to the Marvel action-comedy is due out in May and has a lot of hype surrounding it, along with a cartoon that’ll be entering its second season next year as well. With the five title characters, along with supporting players like Yondu and new characters for the film like Mantis, there’s plenty of relationships for the studio to use and take advantage of.
