Final Fantasy XV: How to Get Carbuncle From the Platinum Demo

Carbuncle – Final Fantasy XV

Recommended Videos

Carbuncle may look incredibly fluffy and adorable in Final Fantasy XV, but it can also be an incredibly helpful companion on Noctis’ journey. In order to get your own uniquely named one in the main game, you’ll need to check out the Platinum demo if you haven’t already.

Carbuncle requires you to actually head into the Platinum demo for Final Fantasy XV that released earlier this year. In the demo, the cute creature shows Noctis around a fantasy dream world and helps him to defeat the powerful enemy that awaits you at the end. Once the demo is over, it’ll then ask you to name the cuddly creature, all you have to do here is call it whatever you want (or just keep it as is), and the demo will be over.

Now, boot up Final Fantasy XV and when you start the game it should thank you for playing the Platinum demo and alert you that ‘whatever you called Carbuncle at the end of the demo,’ is now available to help you out in Final Fantasy XV. Now, whenever you’d have seen the name Carbuncle, your chosen name will appear there instead.

It’s worth noting that even if you don’t play the Platinum demo, you’ll still see Carbuncle appearing in the game. The only thing that changes is its name in the full game.
