Ex-Battlefield and Payday Developers Are Making a New Game from the Monster’s Perspective

A trailer for a very interesting looking game called Project Wight dropped this week, giving us a sneak peek at the first title from The Outsiders, a 12 person outfit based out of Stockholm in Sweden. Head honchos include David Goldfarb, who was Game Director on Payday 2, and Ben Cousins,  who has worked on many DICE titles. This game looks to be nothing like their portfolio, though, applying a completely different perspective to the first person action game.

As you can see from the trailer, you play as the monster in this situation and fight against the eradication of your own species by Humans, namely Vikings, typically known as the heroes of the story in modern action games.  It also looks like you’ll grow up as this monster, gaining new abilities and becoming a more potent fighter as they mature. Think Evolve, plus Be The Zombie from Dying Light and Dead Space 2 multiplayer.

It looks tremendously exciting and the visuals are gorgeous. The game is being developed in Unity and whilst it doesn’t have a release window yet, we can expect to hear more about it in the coming months. For more news on Project Wight, keep it locked right here at Twinfinite.
