Mad Max was actually a pretty great open world game that didn’t try to desperately tie itself into the previously released movie. Instead, players are thrown into the shoes of a lone survivor as you attempt to retrieve your stolen car from a gang of marauders. Unfortunately, the game was hugely overlooked thanks to the release of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain on the same day.
Yes, Mad Max looked a little rough around the edges and could feel like a drag at times, but the game’s current score of 72 certainly feels a little harsh in the grand scheme of things. With some stellar and off-the-wall car combat, a faithful recreation of the world created by George Miller, and decent attempt of a unique story far outweigh the negatives. Seriously, if you passed on this originally, we highly recommend going back to check it out.
