The stretch goals include… a talking car?
Wasteland 3 has been fully funded in a mere 3 days since crowdfunding began on Fig. The game’s initial funding target was set at $2.75 million, which has now been met, although 26 days still remain for the crowdfunding campaign to run its course.
Developer inXile Entertainment has also revealed the stretch goals for the campaign: customization options for Rangers, a car companion and a customizable Ranger Squad Insignia. The customization options, unlocked at $2.85 million, may include more body types, heads and hairstyles. The customizable insignia, unlocked at $3.1 million, will be shown on your Ranger Base, among other places.
What really takes that post-apocalyptic cake, however, is the $3 million stretch goal: a companion car codenamed Morningstar. Designed to serve President Ronald Reagan, the car will assist in combat while commenting on commies. Over at the official update post, senior writer Gavin Jurgens-Fyhrie has written up an intro for this new companion.
Apart from all this, inXile Entertainment has also announced a new backing option: PayPal. This has been made possible thanks to CrowdOx, and the options available through PayPal will be the same as on Fig.
Wasteland 3 is scheduled to release in late 2019, on PC, Mac, Linux, PS4 and Xbox One.
