Nintendo Celebrates Halloween With a Spooky Boo amiibo Commercial

Nintendo, amiibo

Beware this amiibo.

Halloween is a day to celebrate all thinks spooky and scary, and Nintendo isn’t one to just let the holiday pass. Out of all of Mario’s many enemies, one of the most well known is the creepy smiling ghost known as Boo.

Boo is finally getting his own amiibo figure, and Nintendo has taken the moment to release a brand new trailer. In it, Mario is clacking away on his laptop working on whatever it is he does, while a Boo amiibo sits a ways down the desk from him. The lights flicker on and off, showing off the figure’s ability to glow in the dark, while Boo takes over Mario’s electronics. This happens a couple times until the amiibo moves right in front of Mario, and scare the living daylights out of him. It’s as ridiculous as it sounds, and you can watch it down below.

The Boo amiibo is featured in the second wave of the Super Mario series that also includes; Wario, Waluigi, Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, Daisy, and Rosalina. Wave 2 launches on Nov. 4, and the Boo amiibo comes with a special feature that lets it glow in the dark.
