Mafia III: How to Scan the Environment (Intel View)

How to Scan the Environment with Intel View in Mafia III

Recommended Videos

When playing in a large, open world, it can sometimes be difficult to locate the finer details, such as where your enemies are standing, or where you can locate one of those collectible magazines. Thankfully, in Mafia III you happen to play as a war veteran who is trained enough to be able to quickly pick out any important details. All you have to do is scan your surroundings. This is done through a mechanic called Intel View. Here’s how to trigger this in the game and make life easier for you by scanning the environment.

In Mafia III, intel view is is triggered by pressing the touchpad on you DualShock 4 or View button on your Xbox One controller.

When you do this and the view mode is triggered, the screen will become washed out and certain elements will be highlighted. Items and collectibles will be highlighted in gold, while enemies and threats are highlighted in red. This makes planning moves much easier. Think of it as a sort of Eagle Vision from Assassin’s Creed, basically.

Do note, however, that once you move the screen will return to its original color, removing all highlights. To activate the scan again, simply press the button once more. There’s no limit to how many times you can use it, so pop it whenever you need it. You’ll need to be a bit still each time you do it, though.

That’s all there is to it! That’s how you scan the environment (intel view) in Mafia III. If you need more help, leave a comment down below and we’ll try our best to get the answer for you. If you’d rather get the solution yourself, you can check out our massive wiki for the game!
