It’s only October 11th, but already several developers and publishers have announced their plans for celebrating Halloween with regards to in-game content and events, and ArenaNet has just dropped the details as to what’s in store for Guild Wars 2 this season.
In a post on the game’s news site, the team revealed that the annual Shadow of the Mad King event will be arriving in Tyria once again, meaning “the pumpkin-headed former ruler of the Thorn dynasty” will be making an appearance in Lion’s Arch.
ArenaNet promises that Guild Wars 2 players will be able to “collect candy corn, play all of your favorite Halloween activities, and earn sweet new rewards” during the event, which will kick off on October 18th at 2PM Pacific Time, and run till some time after Halloween itself.
Anyone who has jumped into the popular MMORPG around this time of year will likely know what to expect from the Shadow of the Mad King event, which will no doubt include the popular Clock Tower platforming race that has showed up every October since the game’s release back in 2012.
