What could it mean?
Square Enix had some big news in store for Final Fantasy XV at the start of Paris Games Week. A brand new CG trailer titled “Omen” was released today, and it’s as gorgeous as it is cryptic.
The four and half minute video depicts Noctis, Final Fantasy XV’s hero, driving the Regalia across a green countryside with Niflheim warships flying in the background. Noctis spots a white dog, presumably Luna’s dog Pryna, and turns his car around so fast he gets in a wreck. He proceeds to follow the dog, and they start making their way through deserts and cities, seemingly transporting via portals.
The video only becomes more and more unhinged as Noctis sees visions of Luna being in troubles and has to fight his way through Niflheim troops. At some point it looks like the character even loses his magical warping powers. The trailer ends jarringly with our whole interpretation of the trailer shifting, and Noctis’ father King Regis having a cryptic conversation with an unknown character. It should be noted that the trailer is describes as more of a short film inspired by the game, rather than a direct representation of it. Take a look at it down below.
Final Fantasy XV launches on November 29 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Hajime Tabata, Final Fantasy XV’s director, officially announced today that the game has gone gold and is ready for its release date. Square Enix also announced that in the future, Final Fantasy XV will be receiving a co-op, multiplayer DLC.
