Vampyr Combat System Detailed, Narrative Will Be Shaped Based on Player Actions

Vampyr, the upcoming action game from Dontnod Entertainment, has received some new details about the combat system and player actions affecting combat difficulty. First off, the protagonist Jonathan Reid has been confirmed to be able to unlock skills in a tree, and players will be able to equip these as and when they like.

Reid also has a Blood Gauge that can be filled up during combat, allowing him to unleash devastating attacks on his enemies. According to game director Philippe Moreau, certain skills can also be developed differently, allowing players to achieve different types of effects from the same move. In addition to that, Reid also has the ability to feed on humans outside of combat, and this will give players an experience boost, and also make combat a little easier in further encounters. However, this will have an impact on the game’s narrative. The vampire terror will result in civil unrest, and could potentially affect your interactions with NPCs too.

Vampyr will be coming to the PS4, Xbox One, and PC in 2017.
