Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse – How To Earn Macca

Get that money.

Macca is the currency of Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse, and you’ll want to make sure to have plenty of it in order to buy equipment for your character and items to use in battle. Luckily, the game gives you a few different options for earning money.

The first and most obvious way of earning money is simply by completing quests. Oftentimes, completing story quests will grant you a nice little cash bonus, but the rewards for “challenge quests” often include a tidy sum. Challenge quests are given to you throughout the game and require different things to complete them, sometimes exploring a certain location or beating an amount of a particular enemy. The requirements for all of your challenge quests can be seen by opening your main menu with the Y button, and then navigating to the “quests” tab.

Another option for getting Macca is by collecting relics from around the world of Apocalypse. These are items from before the fall of Tokyo, that vendors will pay a high price in exchange for. Relics can be found in old stores, piles of trash and more locations, and they’re always marked by a question mark emblem. Just keep an eye out while you’re exploring, pick up as many relics as you can and then trade them in at vendors in an underground district.

Your third option for earning money in Apocalypse, is by unlocking the “fundraise” option in battle, allowing you to ask for money from demons. Fundraise can be unlocked in the app menu, under the “system” section in the main menu and it costs 10 app points. Once in battle, just select the talk option and fundraise. Of course, you’ll need to select the right responses and learn what works for each demon. Fundraise can also be upgraded to earn more Macca, recover health and other bonuses.
