Hearthstone’s Arena Mode is Removing a Bunch of Cards to Improve Class Balancing

Let the Priest rise up again.

The Priest is one of my favorite cards in Hearthstone, yet it’s also considered one of the weakest, especially when compared to top tier classes like Mage and Rogue. To address balancing issues in Hearthstone’s incredibly fun and unpredictable Arena mode, Blizzard has announced that they’ll be removing a pretty significant number of cards from the mode to even out the card power between all classes. For now, here’s the list of cards that are getting axed from Arena:

Blizzard also briefly explained the reasons behind this relatively major change coming in Arena:

‘When you first enter Arena and are offered the choice of three different classes, our goal is that you can look at those choices and choose any class without feeling disadvantaged because of their difference in power level.’

The team will be exploring other options they can take to improve the mode as well, so there’ll probably be more Hearthstone Arena changes coming up soon.
