The countdown to The Coalition’s Gears of War 4 is getting shorter and shorter, and today, the game’s launch trailer was released. It doesn’t cover anything we didn’t already know as far plot’s concerned–25 years after the end of Gears 3, Marcus Fenix’s son JD and his friends Kait and Del are going up against a new enemy called the Swarm–but we do get a quick glimpse of the Swarm who kidnapped Kait’s mom. There’s also a massive storm on the horizon, said to have the ability to kill everyone in its path.
The trailer also provides a look at some new gameplay experiences, such as riding motorbikes to get away from the enemy, at least two new Swarm (man, that thing is big), and giant robots who’ll undoubtedly be a pain in the ass to get through, and you may get to control them down the line. There’s also a quick glimpse of a fan favorite Gears character, who we won’t spoil.
Gears of War 4 comes to the Xbox One and Windows 10 on Oct. 11.
