The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Breath of the Wild will release on the NX, and has already been strongly hinted to be a launch title, very reminiscent of Twilight Princess’ cross-generation release on the GameCube and Wii back in 2006. Though there’s yet to be any solid confirmation, the decision to delay the game until early next year certainly suggests it could be one of the first games we play on the new Nintendo hardware.
As one of Nintendo’s flagship series, and having been almost completely absent from the Wii U had it not been for the HD remakes of Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, it’d certainly make sense that Nintendo wants to send the new system out with a fresh Zelda adventure. Offering more traversal options, a number of new features, and a bustling open-world full of side quests and distractions, Breath of the Wild may be the most ambitious Zelda title yet, and just the headline game the NX needs to give fans a reason to pick one up on day one.
