Uncharted Movie Adaptation is Still Happening, Sony Hires a New Writer

They’re still trying to make it happen.

Yes, Sony is still determined to make the Uncharted movie happen. According to Variety, Joe Carnahan has been invited to draft the script for the movie. For those unfamiliar with the name, Carnahan is known for writing Smokin’ Aces and The A-Team. He’s also currently working on Wheelman for Netflix, and is all set to direct Bad Boys 3 next year.

‘“Archaeology today is in itself an antiquity, but that world has always fascinated me. Especially when you go to a museum today and wonder how a piece got there to begin with,” he said. “Plus, the property itself is so popular that it was hard to turn down an opportunity to work on it.”

The film will be a co-production between Arad and Atlas Entertainment Production, and will be produced by Charles Roven, Avi Arad, Alex Gartner, and Ari Arad. Sony creative exec Jonathan Kadin is overseeing the project.’

There’s no word yet on a filming schedule for the Uncharted movie, but we’ll keep you updated as more information comes our way.
