The Xbox Scorpio Will Be Priced as a “Premium Product”

Project Scorpio, Xbox One

Back in June at E3, Microsoft did a soft reveal of their new product the Xbox Scorpio, and since then, speculation for the product has been flying around. While all we currently know is that it’ll be 4K compatible and have VR (along with working with games you’ve bought for the 360 and One), an interview with DualShockers at Gamescom has also revealed that players should expect to fork down a good amount of money on it.

Xbox marketing head Aaron Greenberg told them that while the publisher isn’t ready to fully talk about a price point (they’re likely narrowing it down now), the device is intended as a “premium product. From that standpoint, it is going to be a very high-end product.” With 4K gaming existing on PCs, the cost for that, with the wide variety of specs for different computers, can easily be thousands of dollars. It sounds like Microsoft’s new product will fall in the $1000 range, and possibly more, given that they’ve talked about it being the “most powerful console ever made”.

The Xbox Scorpio will launch next year. How much money would you be willing to fork over for one? Let us know in the comments below.
