Just when you thought Rocket League couldn’t get any crazier.
Rocket League’s Championship Finals have been taking place this weekend in Hollywood, with eight teams battling it out for a $55,000 prize pool. Psyonix took some time during the event to unveil the newest free mode coming to the game later this year, called Rocket League Rumble.
This crazy looking game mode is a battle-royale style addition, that gives players a myriad of random power-ups for their car. The trailer released today shows cars equipped with extendable boxing gloves, covered in blades and even using a grappling hook to pull the ball towards them. Here’s the full list of power-ups, and you can see the trailer down below.
The Boot (Kicks an opponent’s car)
Disruptor (Forces your opponent to drive uncontrollably)
Freezer (Freezes the ball in-place)
Grappling Hook (Pulls you towards the ball)
Haymaker (Punches the ball)
Magnetizer (Attracts the ball to your car)
Plunger (Grabs the ball via plunger and cord)
Power Hitter (Allows you to hit everything harder)
Spike (Attach the ball to your car when you bump into it)
Swapper (Change positions on the field with your opponent)
Tornado (Sweep up the ball and opposing cars into a giant funnel cloud)
Like the previous Mutator and Hoops game modes, the new mode will be available in Online Playlists and Private and Exhibition matches. Rocket League Rumble will hit the game on Xbox One, PS4 and PC sometime in September, although no exact date has been given yet.
