They represent a good primer for what’s to come in November.
Dishonored 2 launches worldwide in just 3 month’s time, but Harvey Smith – the creative director to Arkane Studio’s hotly anticipated sequel – has advised players to dig into the original Dishonored game and its two DLC story packs before anything else.
In an interview with Gamespot at QuakeCon last weekend, Smith said he “really hope[s] people play the [original game’s] DLC” and not just “because I want people to buy our game”.
He went on to explain that “The Knife of Dunwall and The Brigmore Witches are really good chapter pieces after we had really figured out the game” and are also “a step toward where we went with Dishonored 2. There are more women in interesting roles than the narrow roles they have before. We really understood our world. And it’s a bridge, in a way, to the new content.”
If you still haven’t played the original Dishonored or any of its DLC, the perfect entry point would the Definitive Edition of the game, which comes packed with all the extra content in a remastered package on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
