We officially have a franchise on our hands
The developers of the original Oceanhorn finally announced a sequel to the popular title, which first appeared on iOS and Android, then PC and is finally coming to consoles in September. Oceanhorn 2: Knights of the Lost Realm will be a continuation of the original story of sorts, though the developers have said this game will center on a different period of time and a new hero.
Announced on the Oceanhorn official blog, this boy, who has grown to be a man, is well trained and ready to fulfill his destiny as a Knight of Arcadia. The developers say Knights of the Lost Realm will have many of the same aspects as the original Oceanhorn with more secrets and twists built into the title, as well as classic, RPG action gameplay.
This gameplay will include puzzles, tricks and even more big time boss fights. Sword fighting and magical spells will be worked into the story. While there will be several items and weapons to be found along the way, the key weapon is known as the Caster, a gun that shoots magical projectiles. The developers have described this as more of a kind of tool than solely a weapon as it’s supposed to help solve puzzles as well as carry the hero to victory in battle.
While Oceanhorn 2: Knights of the Lost Realm has been officially unveiled, we don’t yet have anything close to a launch date, nor what platforms this might land on. It would make sense to launch on consoles as well as the PC, but we’ll have to wait and see what Cornfox & Bros has in store for this installment.
