No Man’s Sky: How to Save Your Game

Saving – No Man’s Sky

No Man’s sky is one great, big adventure. You’re going to be traversing the entire universe that Hello Games has set up for players. You’ll find planets, species, spaceships, colonies, minerals, all kinds of things. It’s important, then, to make sure all your progress with the game is saved and up to date. While the game will autosave occasionally, you can also manually save.

In order to save your progress in No Man’s Sky, you’ll need to find waypoints. These are the game’s term for areas you’ve discovered, and appear on your map and HUD as a white question mark within a green circle. That is, until you approach and discover them. Each waypoint is a different location, and once you’ve traveled to one, you’ll need to interact with a beacon that’s there. Beacons come in the form of a sort of antenna, and usually have a flag near them with some cargo boxes. Using them will save your game progress.

Keep in mind you can only have one save file, and loading up a previous save will kill you!

Once you’ve interacted with a beacon and saved your game, you’re all set to turn off the game or keep exploring the vast universe even longer. If you need any more help with No Man’s Sky, check out our robust wiki full of guides and tips.
