Everything You Can Name – No Man’s Sky

Recommended Videos

With No Man’s Sky officially released on PlayStation 4, players are busy exploring planets and discovering new species of plants and animals, seeking out unexplored planets, and checking out what lies on their surface. Here’s everything that you can name in No Man’s Sky.

No Man’s Sky is pretty much all about exploration and discovery of all manner of different species and locations that have never before been found by anyone else. Therefore, as and when you stumble upon one of these previously undiscovered species, you’re rewarded by getting to name it.

In order to do this, you’ll need to have your scanner in your hand (once you’ve repaired it, of course) and press Triangle when aiming at whatever it is that you have just discovered and want to name. You can now change its name and receive credits and discovery rights for doing so.

Here’s the list of everything that you can name in No Man’s Sky:

  • Planets
  • Plants
  • Animals
  • Other Creatures
  • Different Areas/ Regions of Planets
  • Star Systems

If, as the universe is explored further, it is revealed that there are other things that can be named by players, we’ll be sure to update this post. But for now, go out into the vast universe of No Man’s Sky and get creative with your names.
