Here come the Titans.
One of the best elements of the original Titanfall, and presumably the sequel, were the giant hulking mechs known as Titans. Calling down a Titan in battle allows you to wreak havoc on the battlefield, and it’s one of the elements that made the game stand out. EA has released a new trailer for Titanfall 2 today, introducing some of the new Titans you’ll be able to pilot in the game.
Titans are far more varied in Titanfall 2 with each having their own weapons and abilities, as well as strengths and weaknesses. The trailers shows off six new variants of the mechs including Scorch, Ion, Legion, Northstar, Tone and Ronin.
Legion is a lumbering Titan with a giant chaingun that it can use to destroy enemies at a distance or up close and personal. Ronin is a small agile mech that has cloaking capabilities, and comes packed with a shotgun and sword. Northstar has a deployable shield and railgun weapon, and also has the ability to fly. Ion has some devastating laser weapons that look like they can destroy other Titans in one hit, while Scorch is a hand-to-hand combatant with some fiery abilities. Finally, Tone can launch off a barrage of rockets to destroy its enemies. Take a look at each in action down below.
Titanfall 2 launches on October 28 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. An open multiplayer tech test recently took place for the game, and you can see five changes we think the game should make based on it.
