If you’ve been playing No Man’s Sky this week, you’re probably having a lot of fun. But you’ve also probably gone through some bugs that are either annoying or have straight up ruined your time. Rest assured, the folks at Hello Games are aware of the issues, and they’re working on them.
In a post on the game’s website, Sean Murray explains that the number of players and average play length was “far more than our small team could have anticipated…We sincerely apologize to anyone affected in the meantime. ” To help take care of the bugs, they brought a new Q&A team on board, which is larger than the team that made the game, and they’ll be working with the existing Sony group. All of them are working on a patch that’ll fix the most critical issues, and it’ll be coming in the near future.
In the meantime, Hello Games is offering workarounds related to specific glitches in No Man’s Sky. For the glitch related to the pre-order ship that leaves some players stranded if they purchase or buy a new ship without a hyperdrive, they suggest that you restart your console. Others can fix it when the game detects that you need a hyperdrive and direct you to the nearest NPC to buy one. If neither of those solutions work, they want you to contact their support staff.
