Final Fantasy XV was delayed to November yesterday by Square Enix, but the company has released the first 52 minutes from the game, showcasing its opening chapters. The nearly 60 minutes of footage includes Chocobo racing, equipment, sidequests, brand new monsters and more. Be warned, there are plenty of spoilers ahead and in the video, so be cautious is you don’t want to find anything out.
The video starts with the game’s “Chapter 0,” showing Noctis and his allies battling a giant demon looking creature sitting on a throne. Noctis has longer hair and a beard, looking different from how we know him, and the entire party looks exhausted and dirty. After that short sequence, we switch to the party stranded on a road in the middle of nowhere. They exchange a few words, then set to pushing the Regalia forward as Florence and the Machine’s cover of “Stand By Me” starts playing in the background.
The rest of the footage shows our heroes getting repairs on the Regalia, spending time picking up monster hunts and sidequests while waiting for repairs, and trying to earn enough money to pay for it. Once the car is fixed they set out on their journey once again. We also see plenty of battles and different weapons throughout the footage. Take a look at the full video down below.
Final Fantasy XV launches on November 29, 2016 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. You can watch the the director, Hajime Tabata’s, message to fans about the delay here. Square Enix also released a new trailer for the next episode of the Brotherhood, the Final Fantasy XV anime, this time focusing on Ignis.
