Battlefield 1’s Gamescom Trailer Has Horses and Explosions, Open Beta Later This Month

Battlefield 1

Horses and boom booms.

Later this week will be Gamescom, and DICE and EA will be there with their upcoming shooter, Battlefield 1. To get people hyped for what they have to show, the studio has put out a new trailer that has a lot of things. From the bullets to the vehicles to just how gorgeous it looks, this is definitely a DICE game.

The first trailer for the game was set to the Glitch Mob’s version of the classic Nirvana track “Seven Nation Army”, and this one is set to “God’s Gonna Cut You Down” by Johnny Cash. It’s definitely fitting, given how many dudes on horseback cut people open in the trailer. It’ll be interesting to see how horseback fits in with the more mechanical, vehicular based warfare that the series is best known for.

In addition to the trailer, it’s also been revealed that Battlefield 1’s open multiplayer beta will kick off on the 31st of this month. Battlefield Insiders will get to play early (DICE hasn’t said just how early yet), but everyone will have until Sunday the 21st to sign up. Insiders need to select their platform right away, otherwise they won’t get a code to play the beta early. The beta will include the Sinai Desert multiplayer map, along with the classic Conquest and Rush modes.

Battlefield 1 comes to the PS4, Xbox One, and PC on Oct. 21. Can’t wait to see what they’ve got to show at Gamescom!
