Can’t stop me now.
Awesomenauts Assemble! is getting another breath of life as it finally heads over to the Xbox One. This is two years after already being out for the PlayStation 4, and four years after it was released for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
The MOBA will feature the same type of gameplay as seen in the PS4 and PC version, and will actually have a special incentive for people who buy it in between Sept. 7th, which is the launch date for Xbox One, and Sept. 12. Those lucky people will get every character from the Starstorm expansion for free. This expansion was originally funded on Kickstarter with a goal of $125,000 back in 2013. Not only was the goal met, it was also surpassed with the final total coming out to $345,835 from KickStarter and went over $500,000 from continued donations through Paypal.
The expansion has included several new characters along with a new mode to go along with the game. The last time the game made major headlines was when the publisher behind the game, dtp entertainment, had filed for insolvency days before the game was supposed to come to the next generation of consoles. The game was released on PSN and was free for PlayStation Plus members, but never for Xbox Live Arcade in North America until now. Things got worse when it was reported that development team still had to pay a representative firm for their former publisher.
Of course, despite all the setbacks, Awesomenauts Assemble! will finally make its way to the Xbox One like nothing ever happened.
