Attack on Titan: How to Get Rare Metal

Rare Metal – Attack on Titan

Recommended Videos

Rare Metal is, as its name implies, a rare resource in Attack on Titan. You will need it, though, if you want to upgrade your trusty gear. Upgrading will allow you to move around easier, last longer in battle, and do much more damage. The thing is, materials can sometimes be very difficult to come by.

One way to find Rare Metal is to replay missions that have it as a reward. When in the camp, locate the soldier with the Cadet Corps. insignia over their head (a shield with two crossed swords). This will allow you to replay any story mission you’ve completed. Pressing Triangle/Y while looking at a mission will show you the rewards, and you can see if there happens to be any Rare Metal in a mission.

Of course, there are ways to get Rare Metal in missions where it isn’t a given reward. This requires targeting Titans that give up materials when subjugated. You’ll know which ones have materials by looking for yellow diamond icons on its weak points (joints and neck). You won’t know what materials you’ve obtained until the mission is over, but it’s still worth a shot.
