Xbox One Gets yet Another Price Cut Ahead of the Slim’s Release

Pave the way for the Xbox One S.

If you’re thinking of maybe grabbing a new Xbox One this summer, Microsoft has the deal that just might push you to pick one up. For a limited time, the 500 GB Xbox One model is only $249.

The console’s third price cut in two months, this follows a reduction from $349 to $299 in May, and another reduction to $279 in June. To make the deal even more irresistible however, the new price also extends to all 500 GB bundles. The Gears of War Ultimate Edition bundle, the Special Edition Quantum Break white console, and the Name Your Game bundle are all now $249. The Name Your Game bundle allows gamers to choose either Forza Motorsports 6, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Gears of War Ultimate Edition, or Rare Replay to accompany the new console.

Revealing the deal on Xbox Wire, Microsoft says the sale will be available “while supplies last.” With the release of the slim, the Xbox One S, beginning next month, it’s not hard to see the manufacturer would prefer to only support the new console going forward. It’s likely this discount is a way to finally usher in the newer model.
