Will we be seeing a certain Wookie arriving on the battlefield?
DICE has announced its near future plans for Star Wars Battlefront in the coming weeks and months, including a new offline mode and details about the upcoming Death Star DLC pack.
Skirmish Mode will allow players to “play offline against bots in a solo mission or with a friend using co-op split screen (console only.)”, according to lead designer Dennis Brannvall.
It will feature two difficulty options and be made available for Walker Assault and Fighter Squadron.
Skirmish Mode will release for free on July 20th.
Over the summer, DICE plans to stage more free in-game events, and offer a number of new Hutt Contracts, with “new weapons [and] log-in reward opportunities” also on the way.
Finally, DICE announced that the much-anticipated Death Star DLC pack will arrive this September.
The expansions will include new maps, weapons, star cards and two more playable heroes, one of which is said to be a “larger-than-life” character that fans have been eager to get their hands on.
You’ll be able to hear further details about the Death Star content at the Star Wars Celebration event this week, with a Star Wars Panel livestream on Saturday, July 16 at 11 AM PDT.
