Incense is a key item in Pokemon GO that players can purchase in the game as well as find through other methods. After starting up the game you will be given two to use. Using them will attract Pokemon to your location for 30 minutes. After you have used your initial two Incenses, you will be able to buy them from the store or pick them up from PokeStops. One incense will cost you 80 Poke Coins and eight will cost you 1500 PokeCoins. You can see the breakdown of Poke Coin prices here.

Alternatively, if you are running low on real world funds, you can pick up incense for free in a couple of ways. You will sometimes be given them as rewards for leveling up, although it may just be one at a time. Also, once you reach level 5, they can be picked up at PokeStops around the game world.
