Nintendo and Niantic previously revealed that in honor of Pokemon’s 20th anniversary, Pokemon GO would launch with only the original 151 Pokemon from the Kanto region in the game. This of course leaves plenty of room for patches and expansions down the line, but right now we’ve just got the first batch. Well, almost. Here’s the list of which Pokemon can be obtained in Pokemon GO right now, be it through capturing them or evolving them:

As of this writing it is uncertain whether Ditto (#132) is actually in the game, as we have been unable to find any proof of his existence so far. If this changes, we will update this article accordingly.
The only other missing Pokemon at this time are the three legendary birds – Articuno (144), Zapdos (145), and Moltres (146) – and the two mythical Pokemon, Mewtwo (150) and Mew (151). Mewtwo was teased in Pokemon GO’s announcement trailer as being a special Raid fight, which have not come to the game just yet. There is speculation that procurement of the three birds is tied to which team you joined, as they are the team symbols, but so far this is just an unconfirmed theory. Again, we will update if any of this information is announced.
