With the panels from San Diego Comic-Con being made public, it is confirmed that there will be a new character coming to Overwatch. This is after discussions that there would be more characters released and the official Twitter account posting a tease about a new weapon.

The title of the panel is, “Behind the Scenes of Overwatch’s Newest Hero,” which gets straight to the point that the rumors are true. The panel listing says, “Blizzard developers James Waugh (director of story & creative development), Michael Chu (senior designer, Overwatch), and Arnold Tsang (assistant art director, Overwatch) present a behind-the-scenes look into the creative process of developing the art, design, and story for Overwatch’s newest hero.”
While there is no other information on if the rumors are true that this will be Sombra’s reveal, we do know that the newest weapon is a long range healing gun. It is possible that this could be a different character other than Sombra because as pointed out by fans, there are several unknown heroes shown in the Recall animated video. Anything else related to the new character is expected to be announced on July 21. Do you think this could be the long rumored Sombra being announced?
