The latest in a string of Pokemon GO-related incidents occurred in Las Vegas, where a man and a teenage accomplice attempted to rob trainers of their smartphones and valuables. However, one of the players reacted to the robbery by pulling out his own gun to shoot the robber.
‘A gunman and his underage driver tried to rob a group of people playing the popular Pokemon Go game, triggering a shootout after one of the players pulled out his own weapon at a Las Vegas park that has become a hot spot for virtual creature hunting.’
One of the robbers and one of the victims got shot, and they were both promptly sent to the hospital. Both robbers are expected to face charges for armed robbery.
This isn’t the first armed robbery incident that has targeted Pokemon GO players, and it might not be the last. Players around the world have also been involved in car accidents, corpse discoveries, and shootings where players were mistaken for burglars.
