Luke Cage Gets a Comic-Con Poster for His Netflix Show

Marvel, Netflix, Luke Cage

Sweet Christmas.

The third Netflix series from Marvel Studios, Luke Cage, is due for release in a few months, and this upcoming weekend will be San Diego Comic-Con. To get people hyped, Marvel released the first poster for the series, which plays on the two colors typically associated with him: black and yellow. The poster was designed by Marvel Entertainment’s Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada, and it’s pretty cool. You can see it below.

Luke, played by Mike Colter from Halo 5, was a prison convict who got experimented on while in the slammer. The tests left him with super strength and unbreakable skin. He first made his appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe last year in the Netflix series Jessica Jones, who ends up becoming his wife in the comics. (Jess will be getting her own solo comic later this year.) The two of them, along with Charlie Cox’s Daredevil and Finn Jones’ Iron Fist, will form the Defenders sometime next year.

Luke Cage comes to Netflix on September 30.
