LIMBO comes out top… after Valve naturally.
This year’s Steam Summer Sale is finally over and while our wallets rest till the next deal comes around, SteamSpy has revealed that the indie title, LIMBO, was this Steam sale’s best-selling game with an insane 1,128,836 units sold.
PAYDAY 2 followed behind LIMBO with 526,380 titles sold but it should be noted that during this sale, LIMBO was made free by its developers as part of a promotion for a game called INSIDE. Payday 2 was also made free over the weekend as a promotional title. These were the only two titles during this sale to have a free promotion going during the sale.
After PAYDAY 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive came third selling 485,694 units while, Age of Empires II: HD Edition followed up in fourth with 373,651 units sold. Bethesda’s DOOM (2016) also did well managing to come eighth with 260,172 units sold.
Outside of the top 10 meanwhile, Sid Meier’s Civilization V barely lost out a place in the top 10, with Grand Theft Auto V with 213,926 units sold. Portal 2 came thirteenth with 209,039 units sold and Stardew Valley came nineteenth with 179,095.
