Just in case you were worried Rise of the Tomb Raider wasn’t going to make it to the PS4 this year, Crystal Dynamics has put our minds at ease. Over at the Square Enix forums, one of the forum administrators had asked the developers if the game would still be coming to Sony’s console during a Q&A session. The response was simply this: “As stated previously, Rise of the Tomb Raider’s PlayStation 4 release is set for Holiday 2016.”
Well then, I guess that’s that.
If you recall, Rise of the Tomb Raider was announced a couple of years ago at Microsoft’s E3 conference. At the time, it had been revealed to be an Xbox One exclusive, and this left many fans upset, as there was quite a sizeable portion of the Tomb Raider fan base who owned only PS4s. Thankfully, Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics cleared up the confusion by saying that the game was only a timed exclusive, and it would be coming to the PS4 a year after the Xbox One release.
We don’t have a solid release date for the PS4 just yet, so hang tight, Tomb Raider fans.
