Destiny Got Turned Into a Pretty Cool, Playable 2D Sidescroller

Go flat, Guardian.

Well, here’s something you don’t see every day. One Destiny fan has taken it upon himself to turn the first person sci-fi shooter into a 2D sidescroller in the vein of Contra or Metroid. And what’s better, it’s playable.

In honor of Bungie Day, Reddit user and fan Helix3333 created it in his own image to celebrate the studio, their games, and the community as a whole. Dubbed “Project Tiger”, the sidescroller has players donning the role of a standard Guardian as they shoot through tiny versions of the enemies they’ve come to know and kill over the past two years. He even made the soundtrack 8-bit.You can give it a try for yourself for free, but it’s only for Windows and Mac.

It’s been a fairly busy week for Destiny, as Bungie also revealed the return of the Moments of Triumph, which allows players to earn more rewards before the release of the Rise of Iron expansion in September.
