From Software’s Hidetaka Miyazaki previously stated that the company was going to move away from the Souls series and focus on making new games, meaning the chances of them working on a Demon’s Souls remaster were pretty slim, Given their desire to work on new projects, fans were disappointed as it seemed unlikely that the PS3 exclusive would make its way to the current generation of consoles.

However, in a new interview with Gamespot, Miyazaki clarified his previous statement, and said that it could happen, but the remaster just wouldn’t be worked on by From Software.

“The Dark Souls series is Bandai Namco Entertainment’s IP, and Demon’s Souls and Bloodborne is Sony Interactive Entertainment’s IP. Hence, the decision to do a remake or remastering is under their jurisdiction.

“For me and for From Software, I don’t think we’ll be involved with their happening, but it could happen through another developer.”

Well, there you go. Looks like fans will have to start looking to the folks over at Sony if they want to see Demon’s Souls resurface on the PS4.
