The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Is Getting Three New Amiibo

E3 2016

Nintendo has had a huge showing for the new Zelda game today, Breath of the Wild. After an impressive gameplay trailer the company has been demoing the game for hours on their Treehouse Live Stream, and now three brand new amiibo have been announced for Breath of the Wild.

Two of the new amiibo feature Link, one with him on foot as an archer, and the other with him mounted on Epona and a hood pulled over his head. The other amiibo is name ‘Guardian’ and looks like the creature we saw chasing Link in the very first trailer for the new Zelda game. Apparently the Guardian will be the very first amiibo with flexible parts.

The Wolf Link amiibo will also be compatible with Breath of the Wind, and by tapping the character Wolf Link will appear in the game and attack enemies on his own as well as help the player hunt. He has three hearts, although mention of carrying over save data from Twilight Princess HD may give him more. The functionality for the new amiibo has not been announced as of yet.

The new amiibo don’t have a release date yet, although they most likely will launch alongside The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild when it releases sometime in 2017 on Wii U and Nintendo NX.

What do you think of the new amiibo announced? Are you getting excited for a new Zelda game already? Leave a comment and let us know what you think. Stay tuned to Twinfinite for more out of E3.
