The wait is almost over for season 3.

A couple months ago Telltale Games suggested that their third season of the critically acclaimed The Walking Dead would launch by the end of 2016. Telltale’s Head of Creative Communications, Job Stauffer, has now confirmed that The Walking Dead Season 3, which they already confirmed will feature series regular Clementine, is currently slated to begin this fall, following the beginning of Batman – A Telltale Series in the summer.

Stauffer’s tweet on the matter also makes a point to remind fans that E3 2016 kicks off next week, indicating that we may be getting more information on both titles during the event. With summer just around the corner and no actual gameplay footage of Batman released to the wild yet, it is incredibly likely that we’ll be seeing the first proper trailer for the game. Even more telling is Stauffer’s follow-up tweet reminding media to secure their invitation to see Telltale Games at Wayne Manor during E3.

Their PAX Prime booth to promote Minecraft: Story Mode last year certainly stole the show, so here’s hoping this “Wayne Manor” of theirs is an intricate booth made up to look like Bruce Wayne’s home, complete with a hidden Batcave to get some hands-on time with the first episode.

Batman – A Telltale Series will be the first series to utilize the developer’s updated engine, so it’s safe to assume The Walking Dead Season 3 will be privy to the new tech as well. We’ll have to wait until E3 to learn if the upgrade is worthwhile.
