Good news for Sony.
Earlier today, Sony Interactive Entertainment revealed that the number of gamers that have subscribed to their PlayStation Plus service has nearly doubled in the past 18 months.
According to the Sony IR Day 2016 presentation presented by Sony CEO Andrew House, over 20.8 million gamers have subscribed to PlayStation Plus since last year. This is nearly double the amount of subscribers from last January, back when there were 10.9 million subscriptions.
The meeting also revealed that Sony also saw a 51% increase in total network sales when compared to the 2014/2015 fiscal year and that they have sold over 40 million PS4 units.
In other PS4 news, Sony recently announced that from Aug. 1, PS4 users won’t be able to use the system’s Ustream feature. Also, Naughty Dog made it clear that they won’t be releasing any single-player DLC for their PS4 exclusive Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End any time soon.
