Nothin’ but cheaters
Blizzard is staying true to its word and has permanently banned over a thousand players for cheating in Overwatch. This includes anyone using “hacks, bots, or third-party software that provides any sort of unfair advantage.” This is the first time Blizzard has announced that players were banned from the game.
The recent sweep through accounts has banned 1,572 players in China alone, but there has been no official report on how many have been caught in other regions. Banned players are even getting caught after buying the game again, according to a report by PC Gamer. This should come as no surprise as Overwatch’s Community Manager, Lylirra, posted on the forum stating that Blizzard will take cheating seriously.
The post goes on to remind players that they can report suspected cheaters in game by using the right-click feature. Players can also let Blizzard know if they suspect any cheating or have any knowledge of hacks, bots, or third-party software, by emailing email@example.com. Overwatch was released on May 29 and has since jumped to the top of the UK sales chart.
