Microsoft Announces Xbox Play Anywhere, Cross-Play Program With Windows 10

Xbox Play Anywhere

Cross-play is coming to Xbox and Windows PC.

Today at Microsoft’s Xbox Media Briefing, the company announced a new program called Xbox Play Anywhere. This cross-purchase deal will give players a copy of each game supported on both Xbox One and Windows 10, even allowing anyone to play together between the two platforms.

Gears of War 4 will be the first game supported on the new promotion, and every co-op and multiplayer mode will be supported in the game, including the new horde mode. Play Anywhere will save progress and achievements across Xbox and PC, and comes at no additional cost. This means that players can buy a game once and play it across both platforms as much as they want to. Microsoft continued on after the announcement, showing new gameplay from Gears of War 4.

Forza Horizon 3 was also announced during the press conference, and Microsoft added it will also be a Play Anywhere title.
